Trama
Nel 27 ° secolo, i secoli di pace hanno permesso grandi progressi scientifici nello sviluppo del primo motore di distorsione interstellare. Due navi da ricerca, denominate Explorer-1 e Explorer-2, sono dotate di un motore sperimentale e inviate per trovare nuovi pianeti di colonizzazione. L'Explorer-2 torna sulla Terra. Ristrutturato in una nave coloniale, Explorer-2 è di nuovo pronto per imbarcarsi quando la pace è disturbata.
