Synopsis

Revs features player selection of aerodynamic settings and a full three-dimensional environment. The player is allowed to drive the wrong way on the track or even drive away from it altogether. Unusual for the moment, the track and the terrain are not flat, but undulations in the ground recur. The game was noted for its use of BBC hardware in achieving its display: such was the difficulty in fitting the game into the BBC's limited memory, some of the game's code actually took up part of the screen's memory. While this is ordinarily distractingly visible, timer manipulation of the BBC's display palette has the effect of turning all 'code pixels' blue, thereby hiding them in the game's sky.
