Synopsis
Rise of the Robots é um jogo de luta 2.5D. Jogamos com o ciborgue Eco35-2, meio homem, meio robô, criado pela empresa Electrocorp, para combater o motim que se forma na sua fábrica Metropolis 4, após a reprogramação de certos robôs injetando-lhes o vírus EGO, tornando-os conscientes da sua situação e, portanto, agressivos. Será, portanto, necessário enfrentá-los um por um em duelos para deter esta rebelião.
O título pretendia ser graficamente revolucionário. Mas embora os robôs de combate sejam bastante bonitos (com sprites 3D transcritos em um universo 2D), os cenários são apenas em 2D estático bastante monótono. Além disso, a animação do jogo é lenta, até bastante “pesada”, impactando diretamente no manuseio.
A lentidão do seu robô e o poder dos inimigos que varia (a ponto de alguns robôs serem ultrapoderosos e te atomizarem em dois golpes) rapidamente tornam as lutas desequilibradas.
