Synopsis

RPG Jinsei Game is a Japan-only role-playing game for Family Computer, similar to Jinsei Game, which is the Japanese version of The Game of Life. The goal is to explore a city full of shops, workplaces and places of learning. Starting from home, the player must earn money and stats in order to unlock the game's best features. Unlike most games based on the Jinsei Game series, the Jinsei Game RPG does not use a rotation system. Instead, the controller is used for movement and random encounters are presented like in Dragon Quest. The player can also talk to strangers who might give them advice or do something malicious to them. Like in the board game Game of Life, the player must choose from a series of careers ranging from musician to photographer and even professional wrestler. Most of these tasks are mundane while one quest directly involves chasing unidentified flying objects. Buildings essential to the quest (other than shops and places of learning) can be fully explored; otherwise, the player simply talks to the resident. Combat can take place like a real role-playing game. However, player stats are used instead of hit points and magic points.
