Synopsis

You play as a mercenary hired by your own planet to repel waves of alien attacks on different levels. In each level, you move around the screen avoiding and destroying waves of aliens to try to reach the end-of-level boss before landing on an airstrip. Once you land, you move through a maze in search of a 5th Column rebel who has part of the blueprint for a code to lock your primary weapon to the elusive mothership. By avoiding and eliminating aliens, you can pick up two power-ups, one giving you immunity for a short time, while the other allows you to level up at high speed. If you get hit by one of the aliens, you lose one of four lives and have to start the whole level again.
