Synopsis

In 1787, during Japan's Tenmei era, the land is ravaged by chaos, famine, and a creeping darkness. Shizuka Gozen, a tormented spirit trapped in the underworld, threatens to destroy everything. Warriors from across the country, each with their own motives, gather to face this evil, including Haohmaru, the wandering swordsman, and Nakoruru, the nature priestess. The game is a return to the series' roots, featuring brutal weapon-based combat, bloody finishing moves, and the iconic "Rage Gauge" that powers up attacks when the player is near defeat.
