Synopsis

In the middle of the Sengoku period, Japan was torn apart by endless conflicts. The country's most fearsome warriors once again find themselves on the battlefield, for the very destiny of the nation. Haohmaru, the wanderer with the legendary sword, and Nakoruru, the priestess protector of nature, must face a new threat: a plot hatched by dark forces seeking to manipulate history.
The game introduces a 3D combat system new to the series, with lateral dodges and aerial sequences.
Despite criticism for its distance from classic 2D mechanics, it remains appreciated for its visual atmosphere and its 24 characters, including 11 new ones.
On the technical side, the title marks the return of Senri Kita, iconic illustrator, and offers a “Guard-Shatter Move” mode to break the opposing guard.
