Synopsis

Unlike its predecessor, the player's skills and success in battles strongly influence the ending of Sangokushi Kōmeiden. At the start of most missions, certain decisions change troop deployment, events, and items found in armories and granaries. The game also tracks the player's performance by monitoring the character's physical health and counting retreats or restarts of levels. Taking too many turns or restarting a battle too often weakens Zhuge Liang, who may die before the decisive Battle of the Wuzhang Plains. If the player is skilled enough, Zhuge fakes his death to trap Sima Yi, and the game continues until the last chapter against the kingdoms of Cao Wei and Sun Wu.
