Synopsis

SDI: Strategic Defense Initiative is based on classic shoot'em up action. It places you in command of a satellite which must ensure that the wave of bombs targeting the United States does not reach them. The direction of movement and the direction of the shot are controlled independently - on 16-bit versions, you turn the mouse left and right to direct the shot, move it up and down to increase the range, and use the joystick to move the satellite and thus avoid contact.

Each level is divided into defensive and offensive phases. In defensive levels, you must stop every unit heading towards land, Missile Command style. The offensive levels follow the good old "shoot before he becomes a danger" philosophy, with free-flying shoot'em up sections among a network of destructible platforms.
