Synopsis

The game begins with the player checking into a motel in the sleepy town of Cyclone, Arizona. Upon entering the motel, the player is greeted by a rather hostile employee who gives them a message that says: "I have your friends, only a warrior can free them." The player enters his room, puts down his bags and goes to bed. Once the player falls asleep, they have a strange dream involving a car accident and a dead body. Once awakened, the player is free to explore the city.

The player will quickly discover that their immediate objective is to find the twelve bahos (prayer sticks) scattered throughout the city and return them to the sacred kiva in Devil's Mouth Canyon, just outside of the city. The bahos were hidden by the villain known only as Darkcloud, a mysterious character who wears a kachina mask, in order to test the player into becoming "the warrior". The player is assured that once he becomes "the warrior", he will be able to free the members of Trip Cyclone, transformed into petroglyphs. The player must ultimately deduce Darkcloud's true identity and discover his true plan.
