Silpheed
Synopsis
Silpheed on Mega CD is a sequel to the shoot-em-up of the same name on the personal computer. The gameplay is similar: it's essentially a 2D shooter with 3D graphics. The title uses pre-rendered videos for the backgrounds, and polygonal graphics for the player's ship and enemies.
The story here is typical for a game of this type. The central computer system that controls the galaxy's network has been hacked by terrorists. Terrorists use the computer to attack the system's colony planets. You are the last resort of the Galaxy Union: you must fight your way through 11 stages to reach Earth and regain control of the computer.
