SimEarth puts you in control of an entire planet throughout its 10 billion years of existence. Your ultimate mission is to guide the planet's inhabitants to the stars, from its humble, single-celled origins.

The main threats you face are pollution, disease, famine, war and global warming. The controls at your disposal include moving mountains and continents, creating different levels of species, and triggering tidal waves and earthquakes to reshape your planet. All of these actions tap into your limited energy, which needs to be replenished.
