Synopsis

The story begins with an ordinary teenager, called Simon, who hears his dog, "Chippy", in the attic of his house. Looking to investigate, Simon discovers that the dog has discovered a spell book titled "Ye Olde Spellbooke" in an old chest; both the dog and the book had appeared some time before the story from an unknown location. Simon throws the book onto the ground in contempt, disbelieving in magic, only for a portal to open above. Chippy quickly walks through the portal and Simon follows, ending up in another world. After escaping from goblins who intended to eat Simon, he soon discovers a house in a village owned by a wizard called Calypso, as well as a letter from him. Through this, Simon learns that he was brought to this world to save Calypso from the evil wizard, Sordid.
