Sonic R
Synopsis
While on vacation, Tails and Sonic come across a recruitment advertisement for the World Grand Prix race. When they learn that Dr. Robotnik is going to participate, they decide to sign up as well. Robotnik is only interested in this race because the Chaos Emeralds have been located and he will have a chance to beat Sonic while obtaining them. Knuckles and Amy have been informed and join the race to help Sonic collect the seven Chaos Emeralds before Dr. Robotnik can obtain them.
Originally created for the Sega Saturn, Sonic R is a racing game developed by Traveller's Tales and Sonic Team, released for the Sega Saturn on November 11, 1997. Following the release of Sonic R on the Saturn, Sega later ported Sonic R to Windows systems, and in 2004, re-released the PC port and ported the game to the GameCube and PlayStation 2 as part of the Sonic Gems Collection released on those systems. This Windows port added new quality of life features not present in the Saturn version of the game, such as weather control, day-night cycle between race tracks, and better music.
