Synopsis

In Sonic Riders, Dr. Eggman challenges Sonic and his friends to a World Grand Prix, with the prize for the winner being an ultra-rare Chaos Emerald! By sliding on airboards, whose performance is adapted to each playable character, players will experience an intense sports racing experience, while Sonic and his friends perform tricks and stunts on vast and dangerous terrains.

Sonic and his friends speed across the tracks on their hoverboards, using individual special moves to take down their opponents. Air is an important element in Sonic Riders. The source of “fuel” for your board is air. You can fill up on air at different points along the course, but to run well you'll need to use another way to replenish yourself: performing tricks with your board. You will also have to take advantage of the turbulence created by the runners in front of you.
