Synopsis

Star Raiders is a space combat simulation video game published by Atari Inc. on the Atari 8-bit, Atari 2600, Atari 5200 and Atari ST. Programmed by Doug Neubauer, the game simulates 3D combat between the powerful ship led by the player and a fleet of alien ships (the Zylons).
Star Raiders was notable for its graphics which, in addition to various maps and long-range scanners, offered a forward and backward first-person view, with movements transmitted through a continuous 3D star field as the player engaged in combat against an enemy spaceship.
