Synopsis

Street Fighter EX + Alpha is an unofficial fighting game, released for the SNES by an unknown developer in the South American market. Unlike the arcade and original Playstation port, it features hand-drawn 2D sprites in a style similar to the Street Fighter Alpha series. Many sprites appear to come from the Alpha sprites and have been modified to appear as original creations.
Although not mentioned in the game, some circuit boards feature a date of 1997. It is unknown when the game was first converted to ROM format, but it remained inaccessible until 2011, when an SNES programmer removed the copy protection. Since the release of the cracked version, new versions of the game using the cracked ROM have surfaced. These are distinguished from the original South American release by having a Japanese-style Super Famicom cartridge with a more professional label that features artwork from the original Sony Playstation release.
