The car and the pilot

This sunny countryside will be the setting for your first stop. Street Machine is very easy to use. Operated with the joystick, your vehicle is shown in an aerial view in a regular scrolling manner. The landscapes are superb... But the animation! For a race that could have appealed to the “pros” of controlled skidding, there is no point in hoping to go the distance. The image jumps before the exhausted eyes of our pilot.

The other competitors, controlled by the computer, are already fortunate not to suffer this handicap. To forget the excitement for a moment, the race remains very perilous. The vehicle, launched at high speed, skids superbly and often hits the side of the track. Whether your engine starts coughing up small clouds of oil or the shock is more violent, the matter ends at the garage. It is then a matter of carrying out repairs as quickly as possible; the eighty cases of breakdowns (cumulative depending on the severity of the shock) must be corrected in less than a minute or risk being disqualified. Add to this a night driving test and often poor weather conditions. It is difficult to understand the lack of care taken in the animation of the whole thing.
