Synopsis

Released specifically for Naxat Soft's Summer Carnival in 1993, Nexzr Special is a compilation of short stages and modes that the base Nexzr game shares. Normal mode introduces familiar regular enemies and a few new bosses. "Carnival Mode" contains Score Attack and Time Attack modes, both requiring the player to focus on getting the highest score rather than simply surviving. For this reason, the difficulty in these modes is more forgiving; they make it easier to continue and have more generously placed power-ups. These modes also offer more destructible objects on the screen, as they specifically serve to increase the score.
