Darius is truly what we can call a great shoot 'em up saga, even if we must recognize that its aura has never reached the scale of its competitors Aleste, Gradius or R-Type.

What stands out immediately is the general quality of the game in relation to its time. Here, no slow shmup with bedridden shooting and heavy handling as was the case for many titles. But on the contrary: rapid fire, a very lively ship - the now well-known Silver Hawk -, rapid enemy movements and navigation with almost metronomic precision requirements, in short an incredibly dynamic game.

At the end of each level, you will have to choose your route between 2 following areas, taking one or the other of the corridors after the death of the boss. which multiplies the possibilities of play quite significantly, a very stupid idea but devilishly appreciable in practice, and unique for the time!
