Synopsis

Super Mogura Tataki!! Pokkun Mogura ("Super Mole Bash! Pokkun Mole") is an action game for the Famicom based on the classic fairground/arcade game "whac-a-mole". The goal is to hit the moles that come out of eight different places on the ground before they quickly duck. In later phases, the moles are replaced by other animals and characters to be taken down quickly.

The game was released with a rubber mallet and a special smaller Power Pad peripheral (known in Japan as Family Trainer) with a grid of buttons corresponding to the holes the moles come out of.

Because the Power Pad had twelve buttons, the different levels could be configured differently: for example, the first level featured a ring of eight buttons on the right side of the pad, while the next level included the left, right, and bottom rows of buttons to form a U around an island.
