Synopsis

Although it shares its name with the international rugby union Super Rugby, the latter was formed years after this game's release, so the name is a coincidence. It is also not to be confused with the 1994 Super Famicom game, Super Rugby. The game uses a top-down perspective of the field with both sides oriented vertically, and the player can assign points to various statistics before playing a match to focus on certain areas of their playing style. Options include a single "Practice" exhibition match, a "League" game that pits the player against multiple CPU teams, and a "Vs". mode for two human players to compete against each other.
