Synopsis

After Kyon activated the emergency evacuation protocol, the Disappearance version of Nagato waited for Kyon's response. A significant error in the temporal plane prompted Asahina to call Kyon to fix it. Kyon found himself in the alternate world of The Disappearance. No member of the SOS brigade, not even Nagato, knew who he was. He befriended Haruhi by having her play in a band, helped Koizumi and Asahina win "beauty" contests, and helped sell Nagato's book.

Afterwards, Kyon was able to return to the normal world, but decided to return there for a bit. He helped the alternative SOS brigade to make a film. Then Kyon sent back Nagato's literature club form with his name on it. The SOS Brigade (without him) would exist in the alternate world, preventing Nagato from feeling alone.

Back in his home world during the nabe party, Kyon asked Nagato to go to the library over the weekend. She said she would think about it. However, the visit instead became a Brigade event. There, Kyon told Nagato about his alternate self, referring to the alternate as another girl. Nagato said she was sure the other person was happy, because "they live right there, in your memory."
