Sweet Home
Synopsis
Sweet Home (Suito Homu) is a video game based on the Japanese horror film of the same name.
30 years ago, a famous artist, Ichiro Mamiya, hid several frescoes in his mansion before mysteriously disappearing. 30 years later, a team of five treasure hunters enter the abandoned mansion to try to find the precious works of art. Once inside, the front door is locked by the ghost of an unknown woman, who threatens to kill any intruders. The team decides to split up to find an alternative exit. However, the mansion is dangerous because it is on the verge of collapsing and, also, because it is populated by monsters.
The game is a third-person software in isometric view. It is considered one of the beginnings of current survival horror, it is mainly this game which served as inspiration to Shinji Mikami for the creation of the Resident Evil saga in 1996. The most striking example being the loadings representing opening doors. The fairly mature theme is quite rare on NES.
