Synopsis

The story of Taiyō no Shinden: Asteka II is dedicated to the Mayan people, indigenous inhabitants of southern Mexico and Central America, rather than the Aztecs. The player controls an unnamed adventurer who searches for the Key to the Sun, an ancient and mysterious artifact that can unlock the secrets of the Mayan civilization. Asteka II is an adventure game set in the ruins of the ancient city of Chichen Itza on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. There is a "map" which the player can physically navigate the protagonist through, entering temples and other locations. In these places, the view shifts to first person. The player interacts with the environment by selecting various verbal commands, represented by icons, from a menu and combining them with on-screen objects. The game offers the use of objects present in the inventory and puzzles.
