Synopsis
Tehkan World Cup, aka Tecmo Cup, is the first multi-player football game with a trackball controller.
Programed by Michishito Ishizuka, it was launched in 1985 by Tehkan, Ltd., the former name of Tecmo, Inc. His arrival coincided with the preparation of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. The colours of several of the world’s best teams, such as West Germany, Argentina and Brazil, were on display at the time, although no team was mentioned by name.
