Synopsis

99 Hyperspace railways have long been essential to man's ability to travel rapidly through space. So when aliens invade them, it becomes necessary to steal and eliminate them.

Tempest is a shooter game using wireframe graphics. Each Wireway is taken in turn and has a network of lines guiding the paths of movement of yourself and the aliens. You stay outside and continue shooting as the aliens move towards you. Any that reach outside are lethal to touch, severely limiting your range of movement if 2 or more reach there. Some aliens move sideways - to deal with this, plan ahead taking into account the time it will take for your shots to travel.

You have a Super Zapper, which can be used once each level to eliminate all currently active aliens, but this doesn't score any points.
