Synopsis

Tournament Tennis is one of the first tennis games that introduced, and even created, many of the conventions that would become standard features in later tennis simulations. Matches can be played at quarter-final, semi-final or final level. A victory at a given level automatically allows the player to move on to the next level. Matches can last 3 or 5 sets, with a player needing to lead by 2 games to win a set, although a tie-break is provided at 6-6 in all but the last set.

The view is in pseudo-3D, from above the court, and includes a shadow on the ball to give its movement a more realistic appearance and make it easier to assess its height. Spectators turn their heads to follow the action, and ball boys run around the court to collect dead balls. The speed, direction and spin of the ball can be changed, and both forehands and backhands are available.
