Synopsis

Tetrapod is an arena shooter with Asteroid-like controls, with the player able to move forward, shoot, and turn left and right. For each stage, the player must defeat a number of creatures ranging from killer bees in the early levels to red demons and poison orbs in the later ones. What makes this more complicated is that the screen is full of pods that, when shot down, hatch a lizard that immediately attacks the nearest creature, no matter if it's the player or one of the enemies. Killer bees can be killed by a direct hit from the player while other creatures can only be killed by lizards. The player must avoid hitting them because they will then pursue him more intensely. Lizards cannot be killed, but when shot, they will revert to their original form. Gunshots will bounce around the screen until they hit something. This includes the player, so the player not only has to watch out for enemies and their fire, but also their own bullets.
