Synopsis

You control Thayer, an apprentice magician on a quest to recover magical relics, the five that make up the Hand of Quoid before the evil sorcerer Sorsabal finds them and uses them to rule over the five kingdoms. During the game, Thayer visits only three of the kingdoms to find these relics.
The game was entirely animated in a style close to that of Dragon's Lair, but required more complete work because unlike the latter, the game does not require pressing the right button at the right time but rather like a classic adventure game where the hero can guide Thayer as he wishes in the kingdoms and use the different magical objects.
A sequel including the remainder of Thayer's journey was planned, but the company went bankrupt before it was completed. In the mid-1990s, Thayer's Quest was ported to computers and consoles CD titled Kingdom: The Far Reaches and it was not until 1998 that Kingdom 2: Shadoan was finally released including the last two kingdoms and the final battle against Torlock.
