Synopsis

The Fall of Rome is a strategy game set in 395 BC. You have the opportunity to save the Empire by repelling attacks or attacking your enemies around your different provinces for 12 turns. Each turn represents five years and is divided into three phases, Income and Expenditure, Movement and finally Combat. In the Income and Expenditure phase, you look at each province in turn and receive money from each province with the number of enemy tribes and armies in the area affecting the amount. You have the choice to convert your mobile legions into other troops or transfer money to other provinces. Movement has you moving your armies through provinces and when you're done, the computer moves enemy tribes and armies. Combat allows you to attack your enemies to keep them in order or to reduce their numbers. Once the three phases are completed, you look at your various statistics before replaying the three phases for another five years.
