Synopsis

The Great Northern War was a conflict where a coalition led by the Tsarist Russian Empire successfully challenged the dominance of the Swedish Empire in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe. Initially, Peter I of Russia, Frederick IV of Denmark-Norway, and Augustus II the Strong of Saxe-Poland-Lithuania headed the anti-Swedish alliance. Frederick IV and Augustus II were defeated by Charles XII's Sweden in 1700 and 1706 respectively, and excluded from the alliance, but rejoined it after Charles XII's defeat at the Battle of Poltava in 1709. George I of Great Britain and the Electorate of Hanover joined the coalition in 1714 for Hanover and in 1717 for Great Britain, while Frederick William I of Brandenburg-Prussia joined it in 1715. In this game, you command the troops, define the strategy and determine the opportune moment for flanking maneuvers and cavalry attacks. Good luck, General!
