Synopsis

After The King of Fighters 2001, which closes the NESTS arc, this version returns to the “dream match” spirit of 2002, without trying to advance a canon scenario. The idea is rather to bring together a massive cast, to pit teams from different periods against each other, and to let the competition do the talking, with Omega Rugal as the boss.

It's a 2D fighting game in teams of three, and compared to the previous episode it abandons the Striker format to return to the classic 3v3. Compared to the original 2002 version, Unlimited Match expands and rebalances the roster and strengthens the system tools (particularly around MAX Activation) for a game richer in options and more stable in competition.
