Synopsis
La duodécima entrega de la serie renuncia al hardware Atomiswave por el Type X2 de Taito. También se planea que sea la primera revisión de la serie desde The King of Fighters '96. Los antiguos sprites de cada personaje se eliminarán y se reemplazarán con sprites de alta definición completamente rediseñados. El juego también volverá a su modo de juego tradicional basado en equipos en lugar del anterior equipo de KOF.
