Synopsis
A décima segunda parcela da série renuncia ao hardware Atomiswave para o Type X2 da Taito. Também está planejada para ser a primeira revisão da série desde The King of Fighters '96. O sprite antigo de cada personagem será eliminado e substituído por sprites de alta definição totalmente redesenhados. O jogo também retornará à sua jogabilidade tradicional baseada em equipes, em vez da equipe anterior de KOFs.
