Synopsis

“The National” is a horse racing management game where you act as a trainer aiming to win the Derby, the Grand National, and the Trainer of the Year title. You buy horses, train them for distance or track conditions, hire jockeys, place bets, and manage breeding for extra income. Before each race, you get details on prize money, race length, going, form, and odds. Betting options include win, place, and head-to-head picks. Races are shown from a top-down view with numbered horses moving vertically across the screen. After each race, you return to the main menu to plan your next big victory.
