Synopsis

“Thud Ridge: American Aces in 'Nam” puts the player in the shoes of an F-105 Thunderchief pilot during the Vietnam War. Missions take place in the heavily defended "RP-6A" area around Hanoi - which can only be reached by flying over the hilly region known as "Thud Ridge". The player starts as a lieutenant and undertakes various missions, including eliminating enemy tankers, bombing bridges, dropping leaflets, or engaging MiGs in dogfight. Successful completion of missions allows the pilot to increase his rank. Before each sortie, the mission briefing must be reviewed and the aircraft must be equipped with weapons and supplies. After taking off from an air base, such as Korat, the objective is to eliminate enemy MiGs, cross the "ridge" and complete the mission.
