Timecop
Synopsis
Timecop is an action game loosely based on the film of the same name. It was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in early 1995.
An enhanced port for the Sega Mega-CD was also in development at one point and was reported to have been completed, but canceled at the last minute due to the decision of its publisher, JVC. Timecop was even released to the public, albeit as a demo in Sega Pro CD issue #45.
Timecop is pretty much the same as its Super Nintendo cousin, but has an audio CD soundtrack and additional cutscenes. Although it can be assumed that a PAL release was planned (for mid-1995), it is unknown whether Timecop would have been released for the Mega-CD in other regions.
The complete game was released on the internet in 2007 by its programmer, Jean Charles Meyrignac.
