Sinopse

A Adaga de Xian é uma arma lendária usada pelos imperadores chineses para comandar seus exércitos. Diz-se que uma pessoa pode se transformar em dragão perfurando seu próprio coração com esta adaga. Quando um dos imperadores a utilizou para esse fim, os monges tibetanos conseguiram retirar a adaga do seu coração e devolvê-la ao seu local de descanso na Grande Muralha. Ao investigar a lenda, a arqueóloga Lara Croft descobre que um poderoso senhor do crime veneziano está caçando a adaga e deve fazer tudo ao seu alcance para impedi-lo de obtê-la.

A maior parte da jogabilidade consiste em percorrer níveis 3D perigosos utilizando as habilidades atléticas de Lara e resolvendo quebra-cabeças ambientais. A sequência coloca mais ênfase na luta contra os inimigos, adicionando muitos inimigos humanos à mistura. Armas adicionais incluem um arpão, um lançador de granadas e um rifle M16. Pistolas automáticas substituem as magnums do primeiro jogo.
