Synopsis

Space Defense Force SDF is a vertical scrolling space shooter. Although it scrolls vertically, you also get horizontal movement. The action isn't frenetic, but the game is still a bit difficult due to the tight enemy attack waves and the possibility of being shot in the back. For this reason, you should not let enemies pass unharmed, as they can shoot you off-screen. At certain times, powered capsules will materialize in space. They will not only give you greater firepower, but also serve as reconfigurable armor, which is SDF's main selling point. The armor can be moved from your torso to your back, and when moved in a large arc it will destroy any enemies it hits. Once attached to your back, it will also grant a small speed boost. Learning how to use armor is the key to surviving in this game.
