Synopsis

The witch Circe imprisoned twelve virgins for ritual sacrifice. Ulysses, the Greek hero, recently washed up on the beach after a storm destroyed his ship and its crew, is called by the population to save the kidnapped women. In exchange, they promise to help him return to Ithaca, his homeland. To help him in his quest, he receives a magic hammer from a wise man.

Ulises is a side-scrolling platform game from Spain. Despite being Spanish, the game has almost no text. The character Ulysses moves from left to right throwing hammers to kill an endless wave of enemies. The game does not have levels, but sections within a single, very large level. Precise jumps are required to cross chasms and gorges, and to avoid collisions with dangerous objects. Odysseus can also crouch. The game starts with three lives, and each damsel saved adds one more. There is no form of saving progress.
