Synopsis
Ultima revolves around a quest to find and destroy the Gem of Immortality, used by the evil sorcerer Mondain to enslave the lands of Sosaria. This game was one of the first essential commercial RPGs on the computer and is considered an important and influential turning point in the development of the genre over the years. Aside from its influence on the RPG genre, it is also the first open-world video game.
