Synopsis

Hello, Noble! Our country needs a loyal hero, capable of braving perils too horrible to contemplate. A plague has fallen upon the Kingdom, a scourge is upon the earth! Our villages lie on mounds of plundered and ruined ashes where once strong-hearted and sound-minded peasants walked, where once there were fields of grain and fruit, where cows and poultry grew fat thanks to the bounty of our beautiful Sosaria. All manner of evil and vile creatures are attacking our people and ravaging the land. It is the work of a man so evil that the very earth trembles at the mention of his name.

Mondain the sorcerer exercised his wickedness well. Our nobles are arguing among themselves, and each has retreated to the confines of their dungeon in the hope of witnessing the fall of their rivals. Truly, the Evil One has heaped indignity upon curse by releasing upon the Kingdom a multitude of creatures and beasts so bloodthirsty and wicked that our defenseless people fall like grain beneath the reaper's scythe. These inhabitants of the underworld control everything that can be observed, except the strongholds of nobles thirsty for their own ambition. Nowhere in our once peaceful land can a traveler find safe passage or lodging except in the dungeons of self-proclaimed kings – and they demand hard labor for their indulgences.

Only the young Lord British remains faithful to the vision of a peaceful and united Sosaria. In its castle and city, the pure of heart will find an ally and a resource for the needs of one who has chosen to fight for the Kingdom. Help us to rid our country of the scourge that has befallen us, O Noble One. We beg you, for without your help, we will surely perish under the onslaught of the evil necromancer. Kill the evil Mundane!
