Synopsis

An alien ship had approached Earth in an elliptical orbit, initially mistaken for a comet, and launched capsules to the surface. These capsules landed giant alien robots who then wreaked destruction, attacking cities and eliminating all forms of life. In desperation, the world used its nuclear arsenal to stop the robots, furthering the damage. Humanity's survivors gathered the debris of the destroyed invading robots and learned enough about their manufacturing and design to copy them and build their own robots. Building their own armies, they prepare to repel an anticipated invasion that will accompany the second passage of the alien ship...
