Synopsis

Since the end of the 20th century, the rapid pace of population growth on Earth has pushed the total number of human beings on the planet to more than 10 billion. The lack of consumable food and energy for this expanding population has led to numerous wars over the depletion of natural resources. It was in this time of fear, uncertainty, and doubt that America placed its hopes in the skies with the space colony SC-01 Providence.

The colony was not immune to the social ills that had spread across Earth. The Order of the Russian Star, a faction of the Russian army that had seized power in their country through a coup d'état, immediately launched a surprise invasion of the colony. They began converting the microwave energy array into a powerful weapon in the sky, then unleashed this fearsome power on the people of San Francisco. With the Order's declaration of war through a weapon of mass destruction complete, they demanded the unconditional surrender of the United States within 10 hours, or face the destruction of New York City.

Flatly refusing to cooperate with the aggressors, the president had no choice but to order a military attack to wipe out the invaders and retake the colony. The attack was to be led by Lieutenant Colonel Robert Burns.

Sam Gideon, a DARPA agent, was also assigned to the mission with an advanced weapon prototype.
