Synopsis

Voidrunner, the second sequel to Gridrunner by Jeff Minter, plunges you into the heart of the final battle of the Droid Wars. After their defeat in the Matrix Wars, the droids prepare a nuclear strike to destroy Earth. So you are sent with a corps of pilots to their home planet to wipe them out. The gameplay is reminiscent of Gridrunner and Centipede: enemies descend in formation and must be taken down before they reach you, while a deadly zapper line pulses across the screen, posing additional danger. True to his style, Minter will have you facing not only droids, but also strange creatures like camels and goats. What's new in Voidrunner is controlling four ships instead of just one. These ships start in formation, but then split up with reverse commands or different firing directions, adding chaos and tactical depth.
