Synopsis

WCW Backstage Assault contains around fifty playable characters and three difficulty levels.
This is a very different game from other games of the same genre by completely removing the ring concept and placing all the action behind the scenes. Locations include: truck area, cargo area, resupply room, warm-up room, locker room, parking lot, media room, exercise room, and bathroom (men's and women's).
The game mainly focuses on the “hardcore challenge”. It consists of winning random matches against opponents until challenging the champion. Throughout the game, players can unlock wrestlers, arenas, and holds for use in Create-a-Superstar mode. Unlike most other games that include a title mode, the player cannot defend his championship after winning it.
