Synopsis

Whirlybird is an arcade-style game that puts you in control of a military helicopter. Each level has two objectives. First, you must destroy an enemy ship by going to an island to load your helicopter with a bomb, then dropping it on the battleship. Meanwhile, you are assailed by two fast motorboats, armed with cannons firing diagonally, whose bullets you must avoid. Once the ship is destroyed, the next stage begins with black planes moving quickly from the left to the right of the screen. You must shoot down three of these planes and capture the crew after they jump from the plane into the water. After capturing three, you have a limited time to return the prisoners to the island. If this time is up, the game is over, regardless of how many helicopters remain among your five starting helicopters.
