Synopsis

Wibarm is an action game with RPG elements and several game modes. The player controls a robot that can also transform into a tank or a flying spaceship; Each form has its own strengths and weaknesses. Just like in Thexder, the player guides the transforming robot through side-scrolling levels, shooting enemies and trying to stay alive. However, when the robot enters a building, the game transforms into one of the first examples of a 3D third-person shooter. Levels culminate with boss fights, which take place in distinct areas viewed from above.

The player has a lot of freedom as to which places to visit first. Collecting power units increases the robot's power. If a boss fight proves too difficult, the player can explore other areas, gain levels and return to face the boss stronger than before, giving the game an RPG dimension.
