Synopsis

Wildfire is another game in which the player takes control of local fire-fighting forces. Compared to its competitors, e.g. the Emergency series, this game focuses on forest fires rather than an urban environment. Since fires spread quickly, the main concern is not to extinguish them but to cut them off from fuel sources, e.g. with firebreaks or backburns. In general, a mission is lost if the fire spreads too much. In some missions, there are also additional objectives such as saving people or protecting certain buildings. The player must also monitor their budget.

To achieve its goals, the player has access to different units, e.g. firefighters, bulldozers or helicopters for transport. Similar to other real-time strategy games, there is a base where all units are built. The mouse is used to mark and move units; all other commands must be selected from context menus.
